Post: problems logging in
I am a new user who just signed up for an account. I was able to login from the email sent to me, but I am unable to login from a new tab. Apparently it does not recognize the password saved in my google password manager. I tried many times to no avail. Then when I try to reset my password, I get "This email address is not associated with a user who has password reset priviliges." Needless to say, this is frustrating. Any suggestions?

You were logged in when you posted this, and this forum makes no distinction about whether you access it from email or just type in the URL.
My suspicion is that one link you followed was for fossil-scm.org/forum and another for www.fossil-scm.org/forum. Those are two different sites for purposes of your login cookie, so logging in to one does not affect your login state on the other. Search engines seem to prefer the one with www. whereas we tend to post links without that prefix.

The email address you created this thread from has password reset privileges, which makes me wonder if the site you are getting that error from is actually this one. Have you maybe confused two forums? (There's no shame in that - i've done it plenty of times.)
I've tried it with and without the leading www and neither works for me. Still the same message about no "password reset priviliges". Both come up with the fossil logo, so I don't see how they can be separate sites. Something is screwed up here. I guess I can keep using it as long as I keep the email with the link, but if I lose that I lose contact.
