Post: wiki links handling in Markdown not quite matching the docs

According to https://fossil-scm.org/forum/md_rules:

If URL begins with "http:", "https:', "ftp:' or "mailto:", it may optionally be written <URL> (format 4). Other URL formats include:

...

A wiki page name, or a wiki page name preceded by "wiki:"

I'm finding that <wiki:Home> is not being rendered as a link (whereas <https://example.com> is).

Thanks,

Jim

If URL begins with "http:", "https:', "ftp:' or "mailto:" .... Other URL formats include:

This seems to be confusion caused by those two sentences being in the same paragraph when they're really different things. The sentence starting with "Other URL formats..." is referring to what qualifies as a URL, not referring to URL shapes which can make use of the <URL> syntax. For a wiki link you need:

  • [](wiki:TestWikiPage) =>
  • [](/wiki/TestWikiPage) =>
  • [](/wiki?name=TestWikiPage) =>

Only http:, https:, ftp:, and mailto: may use the <URL> syntax.

Thanks. I did wonder of this was a docs issue, which it sounds like it is.
