website says it should be: bbf3d57ba15d0ed0e9b30819d89a50d294175113 fossil-macosx-x86-20140612172556.zip

The SHA1 sum refers to the original ZIP archive, not the fossil binary that gets unpacked (apparently automatically by your mac).
