If the checkin already has a color set, and you click 'Edit', ticking or not ticking "Propagate color to descendants" makes no effect. It only makes effect if you change the color from what it was.

I think the change in [2080d52168] does not handle the case of "disabling the propagate color to descendants", if it was enabled.
